I don't have The Usual Suspects cos someone wrecked the ending for me, and that effected my enjoyment of the movie.

As for recommendations: Requiem for a Dream, Donnie Darko, Memento and Fargo are highly recommended.

LOTR is definately tops of my list. I can sit for hours watching it. I normally watch them once for the movie itself and a second time for all the mistakes they have made. Its funny when u see all these mistakes that they didn't pick up.
Then there is the matrix. Lion King is one of them as well.

* Empire Strikes Back
* Blade Runner
* Fight Club
* The Big Lebowski
While I wouldn't call them my favourite, I love them regardless:
* Texas Chainsaw Massacre
* Friday the 13th (the fourth one I think is the best)

Well, yes its great.

*but* it depends on how open-minded you are about older movies and you're attention span... because theres plenty of people that dismiss anything thats black and white or anything older than 15 years or anything slightly slow-paced.

one personal criticism is that at times you're probably more impressed by film technique then actually being entertained...

It's deserving of its "greatest movie of all time" label, *but* its not my favourite movie....

I am very ashamed to say that I failed to sit through the full length of Citizen Kane. I wish I can watch it on the big screen.

fatmuscle, good point :) lots of ppl here seem to like fight club (me included)
quite a number of you also seem to like high fidelity, not me though. didn't do it for me. I read the book first.

Has anyone seen Morvern Callar? reckon it deserves the title of "movie with the coolest soundtrack"? :D
it was a strangely good movie though. I loved it.
speaking of recent movie, I'd love to know if anyone's watched Lilya 4-ever. I heard it's...well, raw...honest and sad. something like that.

one more, Y tu Mama Tambien? mexican (I think) movie. no?
