hi

is it true that for a fee paying student, their cost of tuition fees is FIXED for the whole duration (i.e. for com/law thats 5 years) of the program???

so for someone who's starting uni in 2004, by 2005, his or her's fees wont change and remain as the rate it was charged when he or she commenced (i.e. 18720 for 5 years)???

thnx

Fees are calculated by the ammount of credit points each subject is worth times a fixed ammount that depends on the subject area. So it depends on how many subjects you take and what subjects as to the total fee-paing costs.

Eg.
for each Law subject:
typically 390 x 6

2004 table of fees for commerce:
https://my.unsw.edu.au/student/fees/CommerceEconomics.html

2004 table of fees for law:
https://my.unsw.edu.au/student/fees/Law.html

The $18,720 is a typical ammount as
(390 x 6) x 4 - four law subjects
+
(390 x 6) x 4 - four commerce subjects

= 18720.
