hi, i was wondering how much it would be if i decided to pay my uni fees upfront.

ive been saving up money for uni and now i want to see if i have enough.

Depends on the bands of your subjects. They calculate how much you pay by what subjects you do.

Assuming you do all finance type subjects during first semester, you'll pay about $6,979. And don't forget, you do get a discount if you pay upfront.

But you have until the hecs census date, 31st of March to pay or defer your hecs.

I was paying $2,400 something or other last semester, and thats not with the discount, with the discount it would have been $1,800 something or other. But I'm on the pre-2005 system.

I dunno how exactly they calculate, and I'm sure that the amount I said was probably wrong. The uni won't hesitate to send you out your fees though.

How do I work out the Effective Full Time Student Load for my unit of study?
At UWS, the student load value for each unit is indicated by credit points. For all courses of study a specified total number of credit points is required to complete a course of study. The number of credit points required for successful completion can be found on the UWS course search pages for your course.

The Equivalent Full Time Student Load, for one year of full time study in all courses of study at UWS is 80 credit points. This means that:

80 Credit Points = 1 EFTSL
40 Credit Points = 0.5 EFTSL
30 Credit Points = 0.375 EFTSL
20 Credit Points = 0.25 EFTSL
10 Credit Points = 0.125 EFTSL.

The Credit point value for your unit of study can be found on the unit page on the UWS Unit Search web site.


For Example:
Unit: 100100 French 101, has a Credit Point Value of 10, and an EFTSL of 0.125.

Law, Dentistry, Medicine, Veterinary Science.

Mine is around $6K for the whole year

This semester all my units are ten credit points, two law, two non law so i figure mine out by calculating

(0.125x8,170)x2+(0.125x4,899)x2
=$2042.5+$1224.5
=$3267

Then my second semester is the same so my fee for this year is $6534

I hope that makes sense

all my units would be from the 2nd student contribution band, so i guess i would be paying $6979 for the yr?
