ok i elected to pay HECS (by mistake, i was supposed to pay upfront). So i left it on hecs and paid around $2700 (just under80% x my course fees + $256.80).

Is this ok? (I paid today).

go to your fee statement
look at the 'upfront waiver' of -600$ or so

so, you tell us. is that ok or not?

But now look what my fee statement shows....



Does that mean the 20% discount has been applied or do I need to talk to student central again.... They said my situation was ok, but it doesn't look like it.....

Ohh, Sike are you referring to that upfront partial payment up to UNSW direct via the normal fees??

Cos, the Student Enrolment office said that the partial upfront discount is not taken into consideration until past 31st March [Census date] Cos that's when our HECs are also taken into account by the govt.

Ah ok.... Thanks. Btw did you make a partial upfront payment? If so did your fee statement look similar to mine?

Yes, after the census date the university tells the government how many subjects etc.. all about your HECS debt, although the actual process might take a month or two.
