maths not a strong point! lol! but im happy with the rest, even tho i came last in english extension 2, but i only came last by 1 mark so i dont care...meh. im sure i did well in my exams so rankings dont really make a difference to me.

question.. ive checked my ranks on BOS and most seem ok, but for modern it says i came 24/48 which i dont agree with.. our school tells us assesment ranks, but not end of year ranks, so how are we meant to know if the ones on BOS are correct or not?

well ur skool sent them to the BOS........the BOS didnt make them up. if ur not happy with one of ur rankings.............talk to ur teacher.

u could always go up to the school and ask them to check
but they can't tell u the exact marks
and each of the rankings u got may be worth different parcentages
so it would be hard for u to tell if it was right or not
we got told our rankings both in an assesment and overall
once they were marked
thats weird that not all schools do that.

My English rank was different from the one I was told by my school (as I said earlier). So I went to my school this morning to sort it out. I had to fill out all these forms and now they're apparently holding a formal inquiry with BoS to figure out whose mistake it was and what my mark really was! I asked if I needed to tell my teacher and my principal said not to bother because, "I'm going to have to get a whole panel together about this anyway."

At least they're treating it seriously!

well let me start a trend and post nice LOW rankings.. like my adv english one, 117/ about 160
haha.
but im not particularly worried, everyone at my school is on a similar mark so theres not a huge difference between my mark and whoevers number 1. phew. but still. who can beat that?

Do some marks get rounded off??

I got a rank lower than what's reported on my yearly report for 3unit maths.

This is my theory to account for my mistaken rank:

School's record shows:

Student 1 and student 2 are told that they got equal ranking and i assume their marks in percentage are identical.

i.e
Student1 77/100 (2unit subject for Ext 1 maths) Ranked 9th
Student2 38.5/50 (1unit subject for Ext 1 maths) Ranked 9th

However, BOS only accepts whole number and therefore Student2 gets a rounded mark from 38.5/50 to 39/50

Hence

BOS's record shows:

Student1 77/100 Ranked 10th
Student2 39/50 Ranked 9th


Can anyone comment on my theory??

For now this is what i believed what happened to my ranking.

For adv. eng my LOW rank was 48/59. So there... english was neva my forte and now its gonna bring me down down down. though my other ranks are way betta than that are are consistent...
