Following the syllabus for subjects (1 Viewer)

For subjects mainly including Maths, would it be worth it to print out the syllabus so that I am able to tick off the topics I feel confident/studied for/thorough understanding etc etc?

Has anyone else done this?

Also, for the subjects: Economics and Ancient History, is a print out of the syllabus useful/necessary? I am sure that printing out the Adv. English syllabus is unnecessary.

unless youre syl is like the chem one (a list of questions rather then dot points) memorise it, ive done it for legal and business and it help heaps

In the HSC, they can only test you on what's on the syllabus. Knowing each dot point and the content that goes with it, will maximize your chances. You won't really need one for maths - you can go off text books, and past papers; you will learn to memorize what you need in English; all other subjects pretty much require a syllabus to go off if you want to do well.

you don't really need to for maths but if you want go for it,, get it for the more content heavy subjects like economics.

the syallbus is really good for science subjects like biology and chemistry but for maths past papers is the most effective method of study

The maths syllabi, apart from extension two, are horrendously set out, don't bother printing them.
Print any sciences you do, as well as social sciences.
Also, print the rubrics for English. They are really helpful. I only discovered them in term 2-3 and it helped A LOT.

Thanks for the replies. I hate science so I am not doing any for the HSC ^^. I'll probably print off my economics and ancient history syllabuses and just leave the maths syllabuses + english ones on my computer.

The elective rubrics aren't really for ticking stuff off.
I guess you could make dot points of the belonging one and tick that off. As well as the other electives. They're pretty good to know so you can form a thesis around the language of the syllabus and find synonyms to use in exams and shit.
