hey,, a friend of mine did some notes about the poem footprints for his assignment, home that they could help you. it was a breif analysis of it.
1. Identify the purpose of the text
The purpose of this text is to show that in our lives if we have faith in God he will always be there to walk with us in our everyday lives and to carry us through the rough times in life.

2. Describe ONE feature used by the composer to fulfill this purpose
One feature that the composer has used to fulfill this purpose is the footsteps that the woman talks about. These footprints represent that the woman is taking her journey and at the times when there is two footsteps it means that she is being walked with and supported in her journey. The times when there is one set of footprints mean that she is taking her journey either by herself or it may mean she is being carried along in the times in need.

3. In what way does this appeal to the target audience?
This text would appeal more towards Adults and Strong believers of God. The reason for this is because it is about a woman has lived to an adult stage and is having a dream with her life scenes flashing before her, this would appeal to adults because they have lived a longer life and remember things that they have done in their lives. It will also appeal to strong believers of God because in this woman’s dream she talks to God and God replies back to her, which shows and tells us God is with us in the good times and in the bad times, which is what believers of God truly believe about.

4. Describe how this text relates to the concept of ‘Inner Journey’
This text relates to the concept of Inner Journey because in the text it is based around a woman who has a dream and as she is walking along a beach she sees scenes of her life flashed in the sky and as she is walking at times she sees one or two sets of footprints and was told at the times there was one footprint she was being carried by God. The reason why this relates to inner journey because a dream is a journey that one person goes through with there emotions that are being released which no body can interfere with. It also relates to inner journey because the fact that the woman was with God means that she is having a spiritual time with him taking a walk on the beach.

5. Identify and explain how the composer has used at least TWO visual and/or written language techniques to enhance the responders understanding of an inner journey
The first language technique that the composer has used is the “Use of 1st Person”. This technique enhances the responders understanding of an inner journey because it tells us that it has come from a first hand experience and gives us more detail. It also enhances the responders understanding of an inner journey by allowing ourselves to be put in the composers shoes and imagine what they have gone through.
A visual technique that the composer has used to enhance the responders understanding on the concept of choice is the beach background with the footprints on the floor. This helps our understanding of an inner journey because it shows that you are moving from one place to another and generally walks on the beach a peaceful and no distractions which help you think about your life, future, and lets you learn more about yourself.
