Yeah i go to an all girls school as well and that rule doesn't apply to me. It made no sense to me when i was first told & it still doesn't.

My school doesn't allow anyone else in except for the parents and teachers. We can't even bring a close friend or cousin. Still looking forward to it though I already miss everyone!

As for the money....tickets will be $195 for me and my parents, and my dress plus anything else to buy will probably be around $200-300, give or take a few dollars.

Actually, it was a Collette Dinnigan dress and I won best dressed.
So don't make assumptions..
And the shoes were 100 as this was my 9th formal and I have repeated shoes many times...and it was a full length dress and barely anyone sees the shoes anyway.

i am so broke. everything just keeps adding up.
graduation - $10 per head = $40
formal outfit - $750
tickets - $360 (parents included)
and schoolies was due on the formal day.
oh dear.
$750 on the outfit? Major overkill for one night. That would be the budjet for my wedding dress :p

I wanna keep the dress at a maximum of about $75, formal ticket is costing $115. Formal and graduation is on the same night.... alcohol SHOULD be included in the price of the ticket-- depending on the cost of the afterparty venue. Possibly another $20 on extra alcohol...Oh and $5 shoes from vinnies ^^

shit, dude, for that price you could've found something REALLY marvellous and unique. that's pretty ordinary tbh. just looking at it i would presume it cost maybe $200. you got ripped off.

Dress - $300
Shoes - $100
Strapless bra - $50
2 x tickets - $250
Jewellery/hair/makeup etc - $0 - will wear my own/do it myself

I really do love that dress. Colour, style, everything. However, doesn't really look $1700. Although, that said, if I could afford it, and hadn't already bought mine (which is just as nice, and NOWHERE NEAR the price) i'd want it too.

Oh, and plus money to get into the afterparty, many drinks, and taxis, which i'm sure will end up being very, very expensive.
