you seem pretty attractive so i'm not going to berate you
but i'm pretty sure myer bulk buy dresses themselves? online pieces are usually more than fine and will in most cases fit a regular human being if you get your sizes right.

speaking of which i'm thinking of buying my suit online cheap since i'll never use it again. 200 bucks.

Or this:

Which one is nicer for a formal?
Some male input: this one

Can someone explain the compulsion girls have for 'matching' things?

I've been forced to try on loads of suits, ties, bow ties and shoes.

btw, what do you think about bow ties?

Thank flying fuck I have an excuse for missing the formal (going to Vietnam), otherwise I'd be fucked in knowing what to wear. I absolutely refuse to wear anything above the knee or elbow. If I was thinner I'd defiantly wear a dress, but I'm not, so I won't *sulks in selfpity*:mad1:

^^Aw, don't say that. I was a pretty large girl myself when I finished my HSC. As an Asian, anyway. I was 58kg and standing just 150cm tall. I wore a full length, long sleeved dress (admittedly second hand from the Salvation Army lol) and it looked just fine. It was backless down to the bra line though. You'd be surprised what you find at op shops and the like though. Because they're older clothes they're generally not as revealing.

I prefer a nice tie, bow ties remind me of penguins/little boys lol.

I went all vintage to my formal.
This is the style of my dress that I wore to my formal on Friday night
Vintage 1950s Christian Dior Black Cocktail Dress
Except I asked the lady who made it for me to give it a square neckline and skip out on the fringing on the ruffles. And I wore a purple petticoat underneath which poked out a few inches under the skirt.
And this was my necklace which I made myself (I love jewellery so I had to make my own necklace)

I added another layer to it a few months ago so it had a string of white and pink pearls on a purple ribbon which tied up at the back as well. You can see my purple shoes in the pictures too.
And my ring which was my great grandmother's
