Spoiler: explanation of 草

草 (くさ）means grass in Japanese

using 草 to express laughter requires a lil bit of lingusitic gymnastics tbh

in Japanese, 笑う (わらる）means "to laugh"
as closely related ig, saying 笑 is like expressing laughter in Japanese.
in english, this would be similar to "lol" or "lmao" or smth like that

if you spam 笑 you get like 笑笑笑笑笑笑笑笑笑笑笑笑 which could be like "LMAOOOOOOOO"

typing out 笑 hella times lowkey annoying as hell (not that hard tbh but allow it) so you can just say that 笑 = W

hence 笑笑笑笑笑笑笑 = WWWWWWW

WWWWWWW kinda looks like grass innit?

hence WWWWWWW = grass = 草

sooooo 草 = laughter
