No. :)

I just thought I'd point out which topics students had and hadn't succeeded in - all other questions saw at least one response obtain full marks. And we'll have samples of those responses for you shortly. ;)

The responses are now available on the main website.

'Exemplar' responses received full marks, whilst the others were placed at the band 5/6 cut-off. Clearly, whilst it's possible to gain band 6 in Standard in individual questions, only one student has been good enough to do it across their whole paper (in 2003).

Thanx heaps Laz........much appreciated.
Btw....just out of curiosity, y is there so much controversy over standard english students having the ability to reach Band 6 level?
Some people say yes u can, others say its impossible.
Where did everyone's resources for the information come from?

Should I even be worrying about this this close to the first exam? I think not, but I am for some unknown reason.

I think its so I dont have 2 study.

"People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want it to be true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool." - Terry Goodkind

However, there is certainly no artificial ceiling on the band level available to Standard course students. Students of the English Standard course who can demonstrate performance to the same standard as students of the English Advanced course who achieve Band 6 will also receive a Band 6 result.
