...yeah, I don't think that they'd show those types of movies at a megaplex. Besides, do we really want those raincoat types stinking up the joints?

Fun With Dick and Jane is a so-so movie, yet at the same time, completely forgettable. The jokes, on occasions, can be funny, but the majority of laughs are more 'I'm trying to convince myself that this movie is funny enough to justify the $12-$15 admission price' funny rather than actual hearty laughter. One of the lenghthier jokes involving a voice-altering thing is just absolutely unfunny and cringe-worthy, yet the film insists on squeezing a non-existent laugh out of this dry cow for a good 1-2 minute. At least there aren't too many dick jokes.
The film feels more like a series of sketches than an actual flowing film, with the actual plot being forgotten in the second-third of the movie. The underlying theme of corporate America proves slightly interesting, but is seldom touched upon. A decent caper kicks in towards the end, but it seems too little too late. And the ending is pure hollywood schmaltz.
Performances are nothing too special, with Carey at his typical over-the-top self. Although there isn't too much overacting from the rest of the cast, there aren't any performances that stick out.
Overall, a forgettable comedy which is but a mere time-passer, a diversion. A rental at best.

once again, another film destroyed by the trailer which collected the best bits of the movie into one, leaving you with one or two new jokes.
