Hi, We have our half-year this Thursday and I was wondering whether someone could help me with these questions i'm stuck on, thanks.

Algebra
Equations involving more than one fraction
5/6 = y/2
and
10x/3 + 5 = 4/9

Non-linear equations
7(square root symbol)3x = 40
and
(cubed root symbol)4y = 2/3

Thanks for the help

times the first one by 2 so its:
10/6 = y

for the next one times by 9 so its:
30x + 45 = 4 (then move the 45 across)
30x = 4 - 45 (then divide) so:
x = - (41/30)

I dont 100% know wht the next questions are asking but i'll try

find our what 7 square root 3 is, then times by x and that will equal 40 then divide 40 by how many x numbers there are.

for the next one find the cube root of 4y then divide 2/3 by the cube root of 4 and you will get what y equals.

Those are the answers for making the unknown the subject i dunno if your supposed to leave it in surd form though.

(1) 7√(3x) = 40
[7√(3x)]² = [40]² squaring both sides.
49(9x²) = 1600
9x² = 1600/49
x² = 1600/441
x = +/- 40/21

(2) (4y)1/3 = 2/3
[(4y)1/3]3 = (2/3)3
64y3 = 8/27
y3 = 1/216
y = 15/90
