just wondering if we are allowed to do 12 UOC in courses of other faculties (such as MATH2871 etc under a commerce degree) that are not listed here:
UNSW Handbook -
apparently there has been some new rules on counting ordinary courses as GE, maybe special exemptions?
Or is that the only list of courses available to do for all degrees. Thanks

PS: are free options just any courses not related to your major for your faculty?

ask your school or faculty office, as the rules vary somewhat between faculties. that MATH2871 might be deemed to be too similar to the rest of your degree - the purpose of gen eds is to branch out a little.

for engineering, i think we could only do the normal GEN courses, or a language course from the arts faculty.
