generally http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/ provides a good set of guides for a persons program/degree... (look at the link Programs by Faculty) they have the information for most things.... and if it comes to it, look at the faculty website...

I know what these gen eds are about but don't know if they're easy, if you have done these subjects can you tell me if they are easy:

- GENS4015 Brave New World: Science Fiction, Science Fact and the Future

- GENE7801 Energy and Mineral Resources - Use or Abuse?

- GENS3501 Metals, Ceramics, Plastics - Building the Twenty First Century

thanks

BNW is still easy (but used to be much easier a few years back)
EMR is also piss easy (basically anything online is a breeze - designed to boost enrolment in that faculty/schools courses)

haven't done the materials science one because it took them forever to say exactly which days the course actually is on (was summer)

unless you go out of your way to find a really hard gened you will find they are all mostly easy

Is there a list of gen ed couses you can do in summer session, or do you have to click on each gen ed and see when they're offered?

GENS6013 Plants and People: Murder, Magic, Medicine

Is it interesting? I can't find a course outline for it online, can anyone tell me what the assessments are like?

I heard from someone that they might be cutting a fair few gen ed's and increasing them to 6UOC next year. Any truth in that?

and why the hell is an online gen ed limited to 25 people! I missed out on GEND0226 :(

I've done Brave New World. IMO it is the easiest gen ed, got a HD in it (and it's entirely possible to get 100% throughout the entire course until the final essay)

I reccomend you save that one for your hardest semester, only needs about 15min a week (at most) to get everything done for it, not final exam. You do 3 tests online which you can use google to get the answer for

Anyone reccomend any good summer gen ed's?

about "Brave New World"

it seems so much science, physics... which has got nothing to do with in my degreee

well i did physics in HSC got like 70?(2years ago) but i probbaly forgot all of it, since theres like no science in my degree,

would u think it would still be easy for me?

haha their is NO science involved at all. Basically you just make postings in the online message board related to topics (these are usually questions like "what is intelligence") but this isn't covered in the lec material - it's all your own opinion. The lecture material comes in when you take 3 multiple choice tests, which are easy, you can juse open up all the lectures and ctrl + f your answers. Theirs 2 short essays you have to write (mid semester and end of semester) which is just basically year 11-12 english stuff again, no in depth knowledge required besides some research
