its not the brands i hatechloe169 said:Just out of interest, may I ask why?
when you say you hate GP you are saying that you hate a LOT of brands...
Dont forget the staff.melimoo said:its not the brands i hate
its the whole concept of the store
even down to the way they use the presets as music on their website ticks me off.
its the breeding ground...no, promotion station for tsubi jerks
nobody likes tsubi jerks
haha i love listening to the presets album on the stereo while im at work :$ whats wrong with it?melimoo said:its not the brands i hate

That WASNT aimed at you chloe, you seem aight.
I was referring to the guys mainly. They're fucken douches.
Yeah the girls are really nice.chloe169 said:hahahahahahahha
oh my god, i have to say i agree with you on that one. gp guys are crazy. sds guys are usually fine tho, and curiously enough, we're all the same company. they must just send all the retard boys to gp. the gp girls i know are great.
mmmchloe169 said:haha i love listening to the presets album on the stereo while im at work :$ whats wrong with it?
i dont understand your anti-trend stance
(umm, tsubi jerks? :S)
im trying to relate, i really am. but i just think you're being overly cynical and stubborn.melimoo said:mmm
i admit im kinda elitist about the presets. and i dont really want them to go 'mainstream' regardless of how selfish that is of me
i view GP as like the "OC store". thats how i see it. you just go there for an instant fix of fashion
there's no thinking required. no imagination. its all there for you. making it too easy. yes i sound like an idiot.
oh and dan i hate the staff too on most occasions. most of them are tsubi jerks** anyway. except i had one friend there. he was just as cynical about GP. probably why we were friends...
tsubi jerks: hard to explain. um. you'll know 'em when you see em. but like 100% tsubi. brightly coloured skinnies and stupid sunglasses usually. mind you coloured skinnies are ok. its just on tsubi jerks no. its a difficult concept to comprehend
Sure people can listen to what they like. Its just when they are spoonfed these musical tastes. When commercial radio finds a song it likes, you never stop hearing it.chloe169 said:its this whole music elitism thing that bothered me in the first place when dan said in his original post 'trendy people arent supposed to like that music' or something to that effect. I think its incredibly stupid. Music is for everyone. If someone wants to listen to a band for the first time, bands which you guys claim are so awesome, why would you want to prevent others from experiencing the same enjoyment which you reaped from their music and you think the bands are so great?
Thats me, cept not, cause I occasionally shop in trendy places. You're part of what I consider another 'cool' group of people who are cool not because they shop at trendy places, but because they hate trendy places. Yes, thats right. You're cool for being uncool... I know your game *glares*
some people like to hear their favourite songs many times over. sure, its annoying if you dont like the song - thats the part where you turn off the radio. dont like it? so dont listen!mr_brightside said:Sure people can listen to what they like. Why? Why do people have to know led zep's history and story back to front and be able to rattle off all their album dates and other shit before they are deemed a true enough fan to be allowed to enjoy their music? If they hear it, and like it, why should they have to pass a test.mr_brightside said:I cant stand the commercialisation of music. Ok I may be narrow minded in saying that trendy people arent meant to like it but its true if they dont know who it is.
So, you're like, a product of two rival families mushed into one... INBRED!mr_brightside said:Thats me, cept not, cause I occasionally shop in trendy places.
So im lyk an indavidYOUAL!
yew im calm as the sea (a calm sea) i just love to argue when i get in the mood for it. I <3 dan and melimoo in other threads. this is just my late night entertainmentalby said:calm down chloe!
just because someone hates the pop-trends that go through gp, supre, etc, etc, etc doesn't mean they're trying to be "cool" in any form. people are allowed to have their own opinions, and if disliking certain trends (and consequently, the stores which carry them) is one of them, then so be it.
i've only been into gp once, and that was just because i wanted a pair of hav's (only caus they're meant to be good, and i needed thongs). i personally dislike gp, sds, and similar 'trendy' surf shops because:
a) they're too expensive
b) i don't like surfy clothes
c) they're generally all the same
and i'm not biased, the above points are the same for many popular fashion styles/trends and stores.
...But its incessant. OVER AND OVER. I just couldnt live with that.chloe169 said:some people like to hear their favourite songs many times over. sure, its annoying if you dont like the song - thats the part where you turn off the radio. dont like it? so dont listen!
Okay. True. Anyone can listen to it and like it, but wearing a tshirt indicates being a true fan, does it not? Why? Why do people have to know led zep's history and story back to front and be able to rattle off all their album dates and other shit before they are deemed a true enough fan to be allowed to enjoy their music? So thats where that extra toe came from. So, you're like, a product of two rival families mushed into one... INBRED!
me going into a gp, sds or similar store has nothing to do with my comfort zone - i choose not to because i believe they are completely overpriced, and i do not like the style of clothing they sell. i go into stores which sell clothing which i like and wear, why should i go into a store if i don't want anything in there? i dont know about you, but i believe that it's pointless looking at or trying on clothes if you dont like or want them.chloe169 said:one day if you ever decide to step out of your comfort zone and into an actual gp or sds store you will realise this for yourself. until then, you obviously know nothing about it. thankyou and goodbye.
