Total 80-85/100 :)

Last q working :
1) 40:1 ratio petrol to oil, therefore 5L/40 = 0.125L

2) 4.1 L = 41 parts (40 petrol, 1 oil)
Therefore 1 part is 4.1/41 = 0.1L, so there is 4 L petrol, 0.1 L oil.
4L/25 (25:1 ratio) = 0.16

Hence 0.16-0.1 = 0.06
So he has to add 0.06L or 60 ml of oil

Finished with 30 minutes to go, saved about 5 marks and only realised i left the financial expectation question out with 2 minutes to go -.- I think i got about 1/3 for that, sigh.

Overall, it took much longer than normal, i know i have lost about 10 marks but hopefully i can get a 93-95.

Got 30% or so for the wind thing as well.

I think I used the wrong standard deviation for that s.d. question fml. I used the sample standard deviation. Ew.

I got around 33%
edit: if you mean how much more power it was?

Yeah, the question says

'If the wind speed increased by 10%, what would be the percentage increase in the power generated by this wind turbine?'

So is the Percentage Increase 33% or 133%? :/

Extremely happy with the exam. Scored 75% in CSSA, which was good i thought :). But after doing all past papers (2001-2012) averaging 85-95, I'd expect a Band 6 from this for sure.

Section 1:

Got 22/25.... I ALWAYS get 3 wrong... haha. But Question 3 I got wrong -.- was the stupidest mistake, forgot to add the $50 wet weather allowance... who the fk has wet weather allowance.... OHH its raining today, ILL GIVE YOU $50.

Section 2:

Q26. (15/15) Found this question easy. All were good, and the answer regarding Michael and bowling, it was WRONG as both probabilities didn't consider the score of 100.

Q27. (11-15/15) Not bad, but still difficult. Fk Lucy rides her bike from 8am - 6pm... I found the Australian Taxation Office question a bit strange. Not sure if I got that one right, but fingers crossed. Also the percentage error question in regards to the wooden chopping board was worded strange, so not too sure what to expect.

Q28. (13-14/15) Found this question quite easy. I know I lost marks when stating the equation... I put y = 6x + 80... when it should of been h = 6a + 80.... So ill lose 1 mark there i rekon. Other than that, the dividend yield was a bit challenging. I put it as a percentage, so im not sure if they reward it.

Q29. (13-14/15)The hardest out of all question imo, but I rekon i nailed most of it. Finding 'W' was so difficult, i attempted to find it, and ended up doing the exact same as what was on the paper. HAHA. But i just guess and check and found it W = 8. So i just made it real messy so the markers can think I was doing it line by line :p. Also the standard deviation question was good, except I rounded the answer she needed from 59.8 to 60. So I'm hoping theyll accept that. The rest was good. FYI, (29E) was in a previous paper, like the exact same shit.

Q30.(14-15/15) #mint.

Sorry for the messy forum post, just quite excited that I will most probably get a Band 6 :inlove:
Raw mark: 88-95/100!

Happy Studying <3

i. No, the commentator is incorrect, as the score of 100 isn't involved in both probabilities. So therefore, according to the commentator, it is impossible for the bolwer to score 100.... 9/40 chance to score LESS than 100, whilst 31/40 to score MORE than 100. But how bout a score of 100 :)

ii. 31/40 * 31/40. So thats 961/1600

For Q28, the graph on ages/height, when asked to work out the equation of the line, I worked out:
h = 6a +140. (Using the gradient and y intercept). However when I substituted stuff into it, it gave incorrect answers.
Through trial and error I also worked out h = 6a + 80. I wrote that down to the side. So what happens if you write down two answers D: (I did that for another section as well)

If there's more than one answer and they contradict each other, the marker looks at all answers and gives out marks for the correct answer, and takes off marks for the incorrect answer. I asked my teacher that a few days ago.

I walked out half an hour early, then everyone came out after and said how hard it was, how they didn't finish, how they skipped questions. I don't know if I did really well or really badly.

Very unhappy with this exam. It was definitely the most challenging and time consuming exam of the last few years, I did past paper all the way back to 2008 and this was easily the hardest. Why did we have to be the unlucky year?!?!?!?!?!

This sucks, I've been averaging 90% all year and put in lots of effort and always worked hard in class- only for it to all culminate in a total bitch of a test where i'll be lucky if I get 82%. Why did I bother. FML
