Is it just me or was there no right answer for one of the multiple choice...where the asked us what the distance was between Jakarta and Hanoi..? I felt like the answer should have been 6500km but the only choices where 6.5km, 650km, 3500km and 5500km?

Yeah, the distance was much larger, but then it didnt provided it in the answers of the MC. So i just went for the largest one.

The difficulty was about the same as the trial SC, which isquite easy. Extended responses were ok, but I'm not that confident on the 15 mark one bout population trend.

Don't remember what the calculations were exactly but I got 5600-ish km. So went for the 5500 as expected ;o.

I thought it was 3500. . . Originally I thought it was 5500 but then I checked the key and 2.5 cm = 1000km so I -figured- i was right.

oh crap. i didnt even bother using the scale coz i thought it was goofy (i didnt realise the 2.5cm = 1000km or whatever). hmmm so i put 650km

my reasoning was that Australia's about 5000km long or something, and they can't be THAT far apart....

shows me to cut corners

It was exactly 24mm = 1000. I measured it as 132mm:
132÷24=5.5
5.5x1000 = 5, 500 :)

The multiple choice was alright, except that I totally forgot where the hell Melbourne was. And it seriously took me like twenty minutes to figure out which direction was west, though I got there in the end. But that last extended response was a total bitch. I just rambled on about how the population is concentrated in urban centres, and inserted irrelevant facts about stuff like waste and land degradation. I also mentioned the ageing population, but drew a complete mind blank on its implications. Oh, well, band 5.

Haha full on bs everything including air quality and crap and migration!

90% of multiple choice was okay. Didn't get the 'relief' question, just put 130 m thinking it may be 230 m I don't know..

5500 m definitely.

I put 130 too. I thought relief was the top - bottom. I was looking for 290. But then I thought, maybe it's meant to be an average, so I put 130. :S

5500m surely correct.
For aspect(slope contour lines are facing) i put east.

But wasn't D at 50m and A at 240? Damn, I must've missed that 10. Like a LOT in these seemingly 'easy' multiple choice :( I put east too.

yes it was a bit tricky. The tricky part was that they didn't give you 10, it was between 50 and 0, estimated 10, besides i wz gonna put 130 but i thought to get 130 D would have to be 110m which seemed a bit too high in its place.
Go u legend i got east(wasnnt sure bout it)

Wow, you actually worked it out! I got 5500km too, but that's only because I estimated and realized A, B, and C were all too short. 5500 was the only possible answer, so I put it down. lol

5500 was workable; I got that. I guess some people presumed that the scale was like.. 250km per cm or whatever the scale was.
