What were the answers to the financial calculations in the multiple choice.
I left my paper in there but i think i got 1:4 for one question and 12.5% for the next question
Yup, that's right. :)

I thought the multiple choise was easy, as were the Business Report and Extended Response. But the short answer Qs.... they were a bit tricky. I think I just waffled in some of them, not really sure what I was mentioning is what they exactly wanted.

On well, i'm just glad the HSCs finally over! :D

Bad

That was the worst Business Studies exam ever... i presumed there may be something on employment relations but not that (ie was expecting something about new legislation). It's allocation of questions was crap - it wasnt evenly distributed throughout the course - what happened to marketing and finance??? (and for the only finance section there was = wtf where they on about)

And another - IT WAS TOO HOT - couldnt concentrate!

Amen to that.

Bloody hot, some really dumb-arse questions in there, and the unclear questions in Section IV made it worse. Q27 - which I did - asked for employment relations and managing change effectively... wtf? So I used both case studies briefly. Hopefully I answered the question or my mark's gone.

Those fucking 6 mark questions on strategies and working capital totally killed me. I had no fucking idea. I'll be lucky to get more than 1 mark for them. Ugh. It might have helped if I had known the syllabus by heart or something. Gosh it was really hard to make up answers if you didn't know stuff in this exam :/.

Anyway, it's not going to count for me so what do I care.

Yeah I thought the short answer questions were very specific. Usually they throw in a couple of easy marks such as identify the stakeholders or whatever. Very hard short answer questions in my opinion.

I actually found the short answer questions to be highly ambiguous. From looking at past papers, the questions were very straight forward, i.e. "Describe two characteristics of the behavioural school of management" in last year's exam. This year left everything open to interpretation, and I found I spent more time trying to discern what the question was asking me, then actually answering the questions. Those six markers were also really dumb - I had to write at least a page on each of them, so they ended up being mini-essays. Ridiculous in a short answer section.

Hyper happy with this exam. Was my last one too, as for many, was an awesome way to finish my HSC off. Extremely confident with my answers, all well structured and answered the questions I think (plus their open endedness allowed for deviation somewhat to demonstrate knowledge to our maximum :D )

After every exam I always read people saying 'I wrote 15 pages" or even like 'I screwed up, only wrote 10 pages :( not good'.... hopefully these people have massive writting or something. As I'm always over the moon to fill an entire book, my writing is probably below average size, but I wouldn't call it 'small'.

But anyway, best of luck with everyones futures!! And good luck to anyone who hasn't quite finished yet!!!!

It was hard to implement the case study but I still managed to relate to bits of them... even though I didn't use anything I purposely studied for but rather what I had read in BRW/paper over the last week....

The Japanese one was a bit perplexing because IIRC isn't there a lot of controls over inwards FDI for Japan, and in the past it's been very difficult for companies to perform takeovers using the stock exchange? An example.. Yushiro Chemical/Steel Partners comes to mind- where even though the FDI inflows were allowed, the takeover bid was thrashed when the company's BoD raised dividends 10x just to raise share price and prevent a takeover.

i was pretty happy with it....MC tested all different abilities...same with SA. although there were a couple of weird ones, it was pretty good....and the extended responses were ok...although very focused...n i really liked the business report which is unusual coz i usually suck @ those!

but yeh..hardly ne marketing...i think there was a fair amount on management and change and ER...

Business Studies

Extremely easy, what a great exam.....20 pages for each question. What sort of idiot wouldn't study a case study for E.R.

The exam was overall okay, with the questions clearly stating what to do. But sometimes I had trouble with the longer questions in evaluating them - I'm pondering between making a judgement at the end...

by behind ahead in time, but then just thinking that made me slow down in the business report, which was fine, except i just need to get kick started to write!!
Then went low on time, and I shot myself in the foot by not having enough case study reference!!!

I can't believe they didn't put the "With reference to relevant case study/ies" in front of the question!!!! ARGH!!!

I loved the MC, they were generally ok.
