Nah this can all change when we get into profession specifics, certain universities are known for certain things, MIT for technology, Harvard for the Arts etc.

I dunno, as a UNSW student it always came across to me that engineering here was pretty much the 1337 pwn of the state.

I don't understand when you just say that "such and such has the best engineering". What does that mean? You can't base what course you are going to do based on that, because every engineering course is different. I know UNSW has the best Mining Engineering course in all of Australia, which is saying something considering the strong mining base in Australia - therefore I chose UNSW. I could have got into almost any other course, but I chose to do Mining at UNSW - because it's the best.
