I want to study accounting for business and business law & ethics during the summer session.Any idea how many days I'll be spending at the uni? How is the assessment during summer as the session is only going to last ~1 month? Only final exams?
The timetable was released on Monday: https://mysubjects.uts.edu.au/aplus2009/aptimetable

As Joe said, summer generally lasts from the beginning of December to the end of January. Mid-sems and Finals - just like what it is like in Autumn and Spring.

Well, you cant determine much from the timetable and figure how many days you will be spending for each subject.

The interesting thing would be see the pass rates for accounting during summer as there is a high failure rate during autumn and spring .

Re: The UTS 'Get Naked and Sexams coming soon!!' Thread

Samuraitor...

The thing with Summer School is that face to face classes are reduced in terms of the amount of weeks you need to attend university.

What you need to remember is that there are similiar expectations to Autumn and Spring semester subjects.

You wont get it easier than those people who do the subject not in Summer.

If you are considering an easy ride or think you can get away with the bare minimum, I wouldnt recommend Summer School to you at all.

You should try to do the same weekly workload as you would for a usual subject.

However, since my subject is only 5 days; it would be pretty intensive for me to complete the course.

Just asked cause it never hurts to know too much:rolleyes:

From the timetable , blethics will be on Mondays , both lec and tut while accounting depends whether you end up in lecture 1 or lecture2. It still remains a mystery how many days I have to give every subject.

Ok, that explains alot:D Should be alright, so it would be Mondays(blethics), Tuesdays and Thursdays(accounting). Tough to 6 weeks but gonna give me some edge.

Cheers Huratio, you rock:drink:

Re: The UTS 'Get Naked and Sexams coming soon!!' Thread

Next years timetable is out today.

For me it is quite promising depending on whether I can get the tuts that I want.

goan_crazy....
For Admin Law, how important is it to go to the lectures? Do they have lecture notes? The problem is that a few lectures clash and I am not keen for a 6:30 Friday night lecture.

hey maka
yeah i saw its out 2day

charlotte steers the lecturer this sem
shes only casual tho

i doubt she'll be there next sem

the other lecturer ian ellis jones stopped teaching us last sem
so they employed steer at the last minute :/
no lecture notes
lectures were really worthless
i learnt nothing :(

i stopped going halfway thru! lol

seminars i only went to for class particpation
also thats only worth 10%

but then again, with a new lecturer next sem, everything can change

or if ian ellis jones is back, itl go back to the way it was b4

our assessments were really great tho in comparision :) ill give her that

Re: The UTS 'Get Naked and Sexams coming soon!!' Thread

Thanks for the info goan_crazy.

Just two quick questions about Admin Law.

(1) What assessment combination did you do?
(2) What was the OLD assessment combination with Ian?

BTW
In Autumn, my law subjects are Corporate, Evidence, Sport and Admin
In Spring, Ethics, Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution/Resolving Disputes.

Good luck with your exams..... hows the Equity study?

the assessment we had
was a tribunal report 10%
class participation 10%
case note 30%
final exam 50%
n the assessments are redemable against that
ie if u do better in the exam the others dont count

but NO ONE is gonna get that
were going into the exam knowing next to nothing :(

the old regime was a mid sem and final exam
or an essay or final exam
im guessing like equity?

i need to study equity this weekend!

how bout u?

im doing evidence n corp so ill c u in that

wat day is sports law?

Yeah, I need to do a lot of study for Equity too. I am hoping from a credit. Good luck with that as well.

Sports Law is on Tuesday at 6pm until 9pm. NO FINAL which is good.

If I can organise my timetable'in the way I'd like too, I would have Monday for 5 hours of lectures, Tuesday 3hr Sports Law tut and Wed 4.5 hr tuts and 1.5 lec.

Its best that way because if the lectures are useless I can just skip them and have an extra day off hahaha.

yeah i want a credit too
im doing 2 marketing
and evidence n corp 2
2 days a week if im lucky
i went 3 this sem

from the looks of the timetables corp n evidence is 1 2 hour lec n a 2 hour seminar
that is way better than what admin n equity were with 2 1.5 hour lecs and an hour seminar
it means we can get it all over with on monday if were lucky@!
