kanye west had a right to say it and i think he was in the right, the government took awhile to respond, what else are people supposed to think, new orleans is a very mixed city in terms of whites and blacks, most of them are black too, i think i read somewhere 60 or 70%.
Sure he had a right to say it but was it smart?

Yes New Orleans is a very racially mixed city but its also a huge area to cover with emergancy procedures that were outdated and a horrific natural disaster whose magnitude had not been seen in the United States before. They were slow to act, but taking the easy way out and blaming a racial argument? Look at it more closely.

The fact is that right now that's not what's needed. Criticise later, do something about it now. America doesn't need more racial problems than it already has now.

if you saw the video too it was likely that he was emotionally involved in the incident, his father was a member of the black panthers, kanye is very outspoken in race relations in america. Besides, kanye wasn't the only one who noticed that the neworleans disaster emphasised racial issues, it was the topic of many articles BEFORE kanye made that comment.
Yes it's nice that he's involved in racial issues in the states, maybe he should be trying to help them rather than making it worse. As for the other articles? Those would have meant little to the teenagers that look up to him. If Kanye had said something worthwhile, something to draw Americans together to HELP... it would've been a lot better than negative outcries about racism. God, don't give them a reason to incite more racist hatred.

'george bush doesn't care about black people'. yeah thanks for stating the obvious. he doesn't care about soldier's lives in iraq so why is kanye implying bush should give concession to blacks.
