You've probably found it already, but just in case any future BIOS1301 in future is searching through the threads on how to get there, find Randwick TAFE, opposite the Racecourse, and find its front entrance where the parking gates and bus stop are on Darley Rd (the road crossing Alison Rd nearest to Caltex fuel and service station, not the other fuel and service station station), and voilà, Centennial Park. You'll rendez-vous where all those ducks, geese, and swans are, so when you enter through the brick and metal arch reading 'Centennial Park' behind the roundabout, turn right and follow the dirt track until you reach a road. When you reach the road, follow it up straight, and you should see this massive pond with birds all around. There should be some hut-like shelters 50m ahead to the left of the road, where you guys will meet up.

You have two options to get there--walking from uni or catching the 393, 395 or any other bus that goes down ANZAC Parade. If the first, go to upper campus near the bus stop at the Medicine centre and John Clancy, and walk down the street parallel to the Racecourse stables. Once at the bottom of that road, turn left and walk straight up Alison Rd until you see the Caltex station and the TAFE. Go to the nearest traffic lights and go down Darley Rd and you'll see the entrance. This should take 20-30 minutes. If the second, stop at the bus stop at the location just after the traffic lights that you see after going past the SCG. Walk back towards the traffic lights and that's Allison Rd horizontal to you, and take a right and walk down towards the Racecourse, and when you see the Caltex station near the traffic lights, cross the road to access Darely Rd and keep walking forward, and you should see the entrance to the park.

If it helps, I got lost the first time I went there and had to ask for directions even with Google Map in paper at hand, so allow a 10 minute buffer if you aren't sure. The streets all look quite the same, and the entrance is kind of hidden when going down Alison Rd as it's kind of deep down Darley.
