i went to all all girls school, but i had outside activities such as dancing, going to under 18s lol and many guy cousins my age (met all their friends)
most of my friends out of school were guys, and i usually went out with them on the weekends, being around girls and girls ONLY nearly 7 days a week is a bit much!

i go to an all boys school, and it is not at all hard to meet members of the opposite sex and get their numbers.

i dont have that many, but thats becuase im ugly. but there really is no difference.

also, boys who go to co-ed schools cant handle gay jokes well and get scared when i start humping their legs.

I went to an all girl's school since Kindergarten and I've never had too many problems with meeting guys. I think you do have to get out and do things you like and on the off chance you might meet someone worth speaking to. Also getting a job, going out clubbing and what not, even doing interschool comps and drama plays like that. Thats how I was able to meet people...

Basically you just have to get out, and meet people, its the only way!

i went to an all girls High school - i didn't particularly attempt to meet members of the opposite sex
why? cos im rather introverted and conventional
O and yes, i can't take rejection.

I know a guy that was sheltered until uni.
I commented on his shirt, saying it was cool
and he thought I was "coming onto him".

WTF

It's not even like... opposite sex and fear of rejection. Its just friends like the friends you make with the same sex. Its nothing different. Doesn't this pose social problems?

Anyways my parents didnt want me to know any people from the opposite sex that were around my age until I was 21.

I always said to myself at 21 I'd tell them I was a lesbian.

I went to an all girls school.. and we had a brother school

We always had events with them.. like school dances, Business week, Battle of the Bands.. etc

And we saw them all the time.. on trains, them at our school tennis courts, at our gates =.=

I think alot of the time single sex schools try pairing up with one of the opposite sex, our school had a sister school who we worked with. Being at a single sex all guys school isnt as bad as it is made out to be you tend to cause more trouble. But i think with the socialising thing it comes down to the person, i personally have no problem talking to a girl but some guys who go to co-ed schools do.

My school is all boys, and when occassionally there was one casual young female teacher trying to do her job, everyone just went psycho and asked many personal questions to her. Dunno if that's normal.....

Very Very True.. It really comes down to the person you are, and how willing you are to reach beyond your social circle. I loved getting away from my school friends and meetin new people while my school friends never seemed to want to do that much!

does anybody who goes to a single sex school find it hard to find friends of the opposite sex? i was having this discussion with my friend and we noticed that about half of our friends at school havent really met any guys or snything since then. we thought maybe its because there wasnt really much contact. and you know how there is like a brother and sister school, well the brother school is in another suburb so yeah it sort of makes it tough. i dunno. interesting though.

yeah

the thing is, in my opinion, i reckon my friends are really social people. they can talk top anyone i guess. but they have been out of school for 3 years i think and havent really hooked up with any guys and only just see them at tafe or work or whatever.

my bf friend goes out with lots of girls. hes like a player so or guy and i reckon the only girls that he knows are the ones that he goes out with. other then that he doesnt really have any girls that are just friends.

i dunno. maybe its just my area or something

Its only pathetic to you because you have a different view of men. Not everyone is as sexually open as others "SuGa BunI =D".
ishould really change my name to ‘suga’ :(
who said that i am sexually open??
common, for someone at this age, graduated 2 years ago and wondering about their state of singleness by referring to back in high school and brother school? if you’re socially capable , making (male) friends at work, tafe, uni shouldn’t be THAT hard

well i still think that a significant amount of people who go to all girly or all boyy school dont really have as many friends of the opposite sex as co ed schools. but then again some people in co ed schools dont really have friends of the oppsosite sex. and its not coz they are pathitic or anti social. its not an abnormal thing. my bf group doesnt really have heaps of girls that they hang around with and they went to co ed so i dunno. hehe there are funny responses here though.

oh!

and you dont have to be extremely sexually open to have guy friends or girl friends. i reckon that would be pretty skanky or something

the bottom line is: how willing you are to get out of your comfort zone and makes the effort to interact with others.

it all comes down to your personality and your adequate social skill. your (lack of) interactions with the opposite of sex shouldnt be affected greatly cos you went to an all girl school.
