going well in the hsc...but what about ranks? (1 Viewer)

okay i have to ask this once and for all so i can just forget about it and do stuff ie study.

so i think i got 97 for my maths exam.
however...my rank at school is 17/37

will this pull me down a lot?

also

i think i got at least 95 for 2u religion
my rank for that is around 20/42 i think

what is going to happen? are my efforts in the hsc exams going to pay off as much as i initially thought?

It will depend on how well your class does as a whole. Your exam mark will be averaged with the aligned mark that corresponds to your rank. So if your class aces the test, you won't be affected too badly, but if your class spreads itself right down, then your excellent exam mark may be pulled back somewhat by your moderated assessment mark. This applies for both Maths and 2U Religion.

hopefully i should be alright because of the fact that everyone was walking out of both of those exams saying how easy they were

so i guess i can rest assured (until i find out people were lying and actually screwed themselves (and me) over haha nah.)
