they bottleneck your download after your limit.
thats what shaping is....and after you pass the 15GB limit you get shaped to 64kbps...i think read the clicky in my previous post...
playing games...
15GB would be just about right ...it depends if the ISP you choose has good game servers then they will most likely let u use them for free as in they wont count the downloads you make while playing on their servers but if they dont or you decide to play on servers other than what your provider offers you might need more... as a guide
Browsing
-light -use 500mb per month
-average - use 1.5GB per month
-Heavy - use 3GB per Month
Games
not sure will find out....
I'm guessing about 7-10GB a month maybe more
Downloading
-Songs - 50-100mb
-Movies - GET AN UNLIMITED PLAN (for occasional downloading of movies then dont worry about the unllimited plan)
- i think thats it..when more comes to mid i will add
now decide what you are in terms of browsing, games and downloads
and add the GB usage
i.e if i were a Gamer, downloaded songs and a average browser then
my GB usage would be 10GB + 1.5 + 0.1GB = 11.6 GB
now to decide speed
from what i gather this is how much you can download at full speed on the following connections
256kbps - ~100MB per hour- bare minimum for gaming
512kbps - ~200MB per hour- recommended for gaming
1500kbps - ~600MB per hour
The faster you connection speed the more you tend to download/browse in less time as well.... so you need to cater for that
also the faster you download choose a higher download limit. once you know what you need go to whirlpool and do a search with what you know, or better yet become a member and ask the people there what they think of their Internet Service Provider (ISP) there is a forum for each provider so all you have to do is find one you like the plan of and ask how is the customer service, the connection, drop outs, etc....
Enough of me rambling on i forgot what i was typing for ......
oh well i hope i helped
