Got a letter today saying I'm in. Who else will be joining me?

May I ask wtf a Government honours is? Isn't it just an honours program? Offered by the government? What? I'm confusing myself.

Government Honours is the honours course for government units - you do like 4 pre-honours courses and then do an extra year and an 18,000 word thesis which leaves you with an (Hons) at the end of your qualification.

argh, they told me the general standard was 3000 words? So you CAN write 18000 words if you want to? Or is that specific to the Government and International Relations honours thesis?

umm wtf? I am yet to find an honours program with 3000 words. It's 18,000 for govt and ecop I believe, 15,000 for marketing...

That political economy honours student must have lied then :X (!), or got confused i guess, because 3000 is definitely too short for like a whole year's research.

haha considering you'll be doing 3000 word essays as 20% assessments at times, 3000 for full-time honours is very low.

maybe they were talking about the bio essay you have to hand in during the 1st half of the year outlining the various writings in your area of study which is meant to be 3000 words. the thesis has to be 18000 words with a 10% leeway either side else you get penalised
