1. ~ distinction average

2. https://my.unsw.edu.au/classutil/ECON_S1.html

3. Its very easy to get a pass in most subjects >=50, although some will require that you pass every assessment i.e. ACCT2542 which is a bit tougher. and no passes yet, worst is a credit...

Well to be honest i went to a pretty successful selective school...so yeah most of them will be getting at least a D average and probably quite a few on HDs as well

But I wouldn't be worried, a credit average is all you will need in terms of marks just make sure youre well rounded (in other words not like me). besides we have it easy in commerce anyway compared to most other faculties :p

3. oh, I thought you meant at least a pass. I got 51 for QMA, I think that's the only subject i got in the 50s. I got a bunch of low 60s as well, but luckily I did well in a few other subjects to pull my WAM up.

And obviously not everyone gets Ds/HDs. Aiming for Cs is just fine I think.

1) 77.5 so far
2) Not sure
3) I would try and study alot harder if you were on a pass average. Try to push it up to a credit average.

nice! (off topic do u wear glasses? no offense)

feel free to answer some stupid questions:
how many hours do you study? do you study as soon as you get home? study right after dinner? up to 12 am? studying while travelling to uni? studying while walking?(holding textbook in hand lol)

im getting only a pass average, got a few credits but offset by a constant pass grade.
this is how i look at it in terms of future prospects:
pass average = fail average(the uni feels sympathy for you and let you obtain a pass)
credit = a satisfactory level of knowledge, but still too lazy
distinction: nice!
HD: godly!

I'm pretty sure you don't need to study "as soon as you get home" or " studying while walking (holding textbook in hand)" to get a HD average. :D

Commerce people usually get so much time off (spare time) I'm pretty sure you can do well if you study regularly and keep up-to-date on your work and take assessments seriously. Take final exams more seriously than small assessement tasks in subjects where the final exam weights 50% or more. I guess that's a good advice for all students, not just commerce. But I'm from science, what would I know about commerce...

I found the lecture notes to be fine because the final was multiple choice. Same with fins1613.

Now that im doing FINS2624 and 3616 im thinking I will have to do notes...
I did notes for macro, micro and accounting though.

I've never been a fan of self-made notes/summaries. For me writing them has always been a waste of time. I just do all the readings, lecture notes, etc. several times over just before exams, and everything usually turns out ok.

a while back i used lecture notes as well as my own summaries that i made from the textbook. but it was the biggest waste of time... just use the lecture notes and make notes in your lectures that arent covered in your lecture notes that you think might be really important.
