In the old syllabus, was graphing transformations (from Further Functions I think) part of the the Preliminary Extension 1 syllabus? (Stuff such as y = |f(x)|, y^2 = f(x), |y| = f(x) and all that). Was looking through the all the past papers of the old syllabus and none of those kinds of questions, especially in the yearlys (apart from the occasional parametric / absolute value / inequality questions that make up the rest of that topic) are in them (wondering if this was just a thing of my school or yeah)

It's new to ext1. However, it was a part of the old Ext. 2 syllabus, so you can find some relevant qs there, although they will probably be much harder than the standard you will need for ext1 tests.
