I thought it was just the waist.
You buy lengths as R (regular), L (long) and XL (extra long).

What do you reckon the average 18yo guy's size is? 32L?

34...

i reckon, and im a guy...but everyone is different again, so i dont think there would really be a normal size, but 32 would have to be a skinny fella, let alone 30...unless they're short...too many variables

Thats oddly bizarre.
When i buy clothes for my boyfriend i buy 32L and they seem sorta loose on him (he's about 1.9m tall).
But he reckons that's the average.

Just try them on. Clothes sizes are different with every brand (which really pisses me off). Why can't all the companies come up with a standard and stick to it?

Something like 80 - 100 (80cm waist and 100cm length)*

*I pulled the numbers from thin air.

I beg to differ. The measurements are done in inches, therefore if you're between 28 and 36 you have a hip measurement of between 70 and 90cm.

But yeah. Sizes will never be the same. At least guys are somewhat standardised. I think i drifted into a store which tried to sell me a XS9 as opposed to a L8... Or the brands that think that a normal size 6 is a 0 in their brand, size 8 = 1, size 10 = 1.5... i mean, what the fuck?

I have problems finding jeans that fit. They don't come in sizes lower then 28 and that is slightly loose for me.

i think it's more about your size, weight, height, build etc...not reallllllly your age. it does have a bit of an impact, like a 13 year old will generally have smaller size than a 17 year old (such as yourself) but you could be 17 and 7 foot tall, yet wear size 32. orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr you could be 5 foot and have size 40...

god forbid, pants sizes fluctuating

Yes. It's in inches, although some are in CM- a normalish guy would be around 28-36.
