I went on a three-week safari through Kenya and South Africa in 2003. Depending on what kind of trip you want to do, budget ~$5000-8000, especially for the flights.

I did some volunteer work in Swaziland and travelled around South Africa this year, it was amazing! Best month of my life for sure

I have to agree here. Africa is really a horrid place.

North africa is the best place to visit imo; much more tolerable than the rest.

Tunisia
South Africa
Egypt
Morocco

those countries are popular with tourists.

generally though i would stay away from africa.
