i know someone with 240 and 98.1 uai who made it into adelaide only (not unsw). What uni are u talking about brad.

Skywalker : I remember in my sisters year there were heaps of norweigians, some were pretty weird =/ damn hippies
thats about average.. but only interview counts..
u need UMAT 180 and UAI 90..

their score would hav allowed them to get UNSW or monash with a decent interview..

Part of the application is a structured CV - about 6 or 7 questions covering fairly standard stuff including jobs and "anything else you'd like to mention". The CV is just used as a point of reference for the interview, so if it's not there they'll be unlikely to mention it unless you do.
This CV is just for UNSW right?

Yeah, as far as i know (which isn't very far, i only applied for unsw and newcastle). its not really a CV as such, more of a questionnaire about things you've done. Look at the UNSW med website (www.med.unsw.edu.au i think) and have a look at the form, you'll see what i mean.
Thanks for that!

:D
..simple questions are always dodgy...:)

Ur saying that those scores are average for adelaide, and that the interview is weighted more than the umat/uai?
the interview counts for 100% of entry.. after u get pass the minimum for UMAT and UAI..

i got higher for both.. lots of ppl do..
but some hav 280 UMAT and 91.7 UAI.
some of ppl scores are 180 UMAT and 99.95 UAI..

yeah, they say they weigh the interview, umat and uai equally, but how can you weigh a test out of 300, a RANKING out of 100 (50000) and an interiew equally?

easy?... an algorithm..
weigh ure percentiles for UMAT and UAI..get a rank relative to the cohort then
sort u by rank interview...

they do it at monash too.. and UWA
not rocket science..

i know quite a few ppl in my year who got about 97 and pretty average umat scores and got hecs places....then there are others who got really high uais but are on bonded places...so it is hard to say that people with certain uais/umats will def/def not get in.

So just by looking at them, you concluded they're all 99.9+ UAI?
hahaha, i didn't really "conclude" that they are "all" 99.9+ UAI but it SEEMS like UNSW onli take 99.9+ at first

well i mean if you have super-duper uai and really good umat [when you're getting uai's near in the high 99.xx range, then you're basically naturally gifted], that's two out of three components that are excpetional. makes sense that you'd have ppl with high uai there. obviously not everyone is like that, but when u look at the median uai at unsw there's a very large majority of high uai achievers there.

how did lexi get in?? he must have been incredibly suave.
he gave them his uh... 'services'
hehehe
nah, he got in with his uni marks along with his superdooper high umat scores and an interview(once you're in uni they don't look at uai's, except UNSW because the HSC is so important and it means everything and and and it tells you how smart a person really is!*)

*for those of you who are stupid= no of course not...

um...hmmm
not too sure,
he was at uts doing...uhhh international studies (?) and an applied science (chem or biochem)

doesnt matter what degree you do if you're gonna transfer
usually helps if you do something sciency so that first year is easier to understand (slightly)
