HB Online frustrations (1 Viewer)

I just worked through the cell section, and I have to say that this is quickly starting to become one of my least favorite subjects (regular, mandatory homework was something I hoped we'd be leaving behind in high school).

Does anyone know the extent to which the online material is examinable? I'm starting to get really stressed/annoyed because the content not only extends beyond the scope of the subject, but many of the sections already assume (e.g. Read chapter 6 before attempting this section) that you own the textbook. My parents are in a very tight spot financially so they can't buy it for me and neither will I be able to purchase it for another two weeks. Printing out half the chapters is not a feasible option.

Somebody please respond, I'm going nuts over this.

I hate how our lecturers specifically said: that everything in the final exam will be covered in the lecture materials so there was no need in purchasing a book. But BAM!

I too find some parts of HB Online relatively easy and some parts are out of whack (not even covered in the lectures). From what I hear, HB Online Activities is examinable in our Prework Test in Practicals - so I presume some of the questions we've done in our Prework Quiz will hinder the questions in our final examination. Better ask someone on the discussion board for BIOL1003/1903.

I went to the discussion board and one of the guys told me that everything in HB Online could be examined, however particular sections will be specified. Kind of a vague answer since I want to know if the effort of learning this stuff now is justified.

Also if HB online is examinable, do we have to know everything in the corresponding subsection in the textbook? Or do we just have to know the answers to the questions in the quiz.
