What do you mean by year 12 maths? I'm assuming you've only taught yourself 2u year 11 maths, if you are planning on doing ext maths in the future do the prelim extension first then the year 12 maths, if not then just do the 2u year 12 maths

i'm guessing cause you're pretty smart, you go to a selective or private school. if you do, you should continue with 3unit and 4unit in the next 2 years. get your parents to tell the school that you are gifted so you can perhaps be accelerated into a yr 11 maths class, try to sit your 3,4 unit maths hsc in yr11. you'll only have maths to worry about in yr11 and you'll have 4 units gone by the time you get to year 12, so you'll have heaps of time to study for your other subjects. someone in our grade did this, he sat the HSc maths last year and got a HSC mark of 95 for 3 and 4 unit maths, is and is currently in the top ten for all his subjects in yr12. he is set for a 100 UAI.

Yeh definately ask if you can accelerate, doing 3u,4u maths in year 10 so then you have back up marks (I'm going to assume you are going to do well in it), so then you have less units to worry about, then take up a distinction or accelerate in some other subjects lol. Got it all planned for you :)

But definately consider accelerating because you learning it now would be quite a waste if you are going to have to wait 3 years before you can actually use it

Thanks for all your support guys:). And to answer your kinda question mat2154 I actually dont go to a selective or private school just a normal High School. I am also doing ALOT of yr. 11 and yr. 12 physics so i'm definetly going to ask if i can be advanced to yr. 11 physics. Just curious, who should i consult for geting advanced in those two areas of study, the pricipal, physics teacher, maths teacher?
THANKS ANYONE FOR THEIR OPINION AND SUPPORT it would be great
!:uhhuh::)

wow, a genius! yeah definitely accelerate. But you have to go through your prelims first. you can't just jump up to year 12. Your school probably will be very supportive but will make you do your prelims to make sure you've covered everything thoroughly.

Good luck, kid. Talk to your science and maths teachers, though probably you'll have to have a meeting with the principal about it.

I have a really good relationship with my maths teacher and also with the physics teacher. Talk with your teachers, and hopefully you can then have a discussion with both your teacher and head teacher about the matter.

Good luck :)

yep talk to a teacher who knows (and judging by what you've said, probably loves) you.

And hey, even though your head teacher may seem mean, they won't just automatically go "no." Don't be afraid to try. A lot of teachers seem mean when you're in year 9 but they turn out to be pretty cool.
