12. c. find the probability that 3 treadmills and 2 steppers are being used out of peak times

OK, so basically in part a) it said the probability of treadmill being used out of peak times is 4/7 and there are 9 tredmills and part b) basically had steppers being used with the probability of 4/9 with 6 steppers

the answer 0.03 (2 dp)

yeah I basically did that but instead of a times between the two brackets I did a plus
quick question, why do you times or is that something you have to do....

It's a times because it's an "and" here. If it was "or", we'd do a plus.

Because its an AND ..... you want BOTH happening together.
They aren't different cases.
