•provide a context for the research
•justify the research
•show where the research fits into the existing body of knowledge
•illustrate how the subject has been studied previously
•highlight flaws in previous research
•show that the work is adding to the understanding and knowledge of the field

In addition to those points it gives you a bit of preparation if you end up doing graded honours/ academic postgrad research at university.

There is no such thing as right or wrong articles for the literature review. As a general rule you should look for items published within the last 5 years unless they are what is called seminal works (meaning that they were grounded breaking events in that particular field). Also, it is a good rule if you can source items that are scholarly or peer reviewed.

Hi,

Whilst it is not on newborns and parents wellbeing you can get the idea of how to set the IRP out by looking at this site: http://mdcccafs.weebly.com/uploads/1/8/0/3/18034369/irp1.pdf

Also I will refer you to here in regards to the diary (so that I don't have to retype my response): http://community.boredofstudies.org/90/community-family-studies/312758/irp-diary-entries-help.html

I'd suggest choosing an area of research that you're passionate about. That way, you'll be motivated to complete the project and go really well.

Hey everyone! Would be much appreciated if you would please take a few minutes to fill this out! The IRP is based on the impact of Sole Parent Families On Adolescents. Thank you.https://forms.gle/o8jHHq1Q8uEctiJu8
