yeah, Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer

It's a magnificant book, provokes so much thought...and is definitely inspiring to head out into the unknown!

I thought of Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes. I've recently seen the 2003 film adaptation and it's quite good and yes, the main character leaves everything behind her. I won't say too much in case you do decide to read/watch it.
