I just want to know (straight up) which are more important...
Assessment task MARKS or RANKS? i need to get this cleared up..thanks

ranks are more important.
You're marks only matter to decide the difference between your ranks.
ie 1st has a mark of 90, 2nd has a mark of 89, 3rd has a mark of 60.
1st, 2nd have a little gap. So there is little gap between their final assessment marks.
3rd has a big gap, so there will be a big gap in their final assessment mark.

yeah..my ranks in most subjects are pretty good (most are top 10) but my actual marks unfortunately are not that great.

i hate my school. top selectives = BAD

if you dont come last, rank isnt that important

but marks canbe adjusted to reflect HSC marks if there is a marked difference between the marks the school puts in and those in the exam. rank is useful, but not the be-all and end-all
