For college I apparently need a 10/100Mbit network interface card to connect my laptop to the network. So basically, what is this network card, where do i get it, how much will it cost and how do i use it when i get it??

And i know that this is probably a stupid question...

any computer shop will have one it will cost you under 20 bux

once you get it you will have to put it in your computer and depending on what verion of windows you have it should detect it and have drivers for it..

You're looking for a 'PCMCIA Ethernet Card' if you dont already have a network card built in.
If the laptop is fairly new, then i'd be quite surprised if you DIDNT have network capabilities already.

Plus, $20 seems too cheap for this... Between at least $50 and $75 for a PCMCIA card, and they would be cheapies.

$20 would be for a PCI card, but since you have a laptop, you CANT get one of these...
