Ruse definitely still has some standard but I feel soon it will decrease, worst case scenario it plummets; because of the rise of underdog schools like nbhs and syd grammar, it doesn’t have to be like this year, but they’ll catch up

This is legit so fucking American.I believe so, it's odd for a selective school to do that but ig it would be good for someone who enjoys sport but also wants an academically focused school
Sport Policy
Sydney Boys High School is an academically selective high school conducted by the NSW Department of Education.sydneyhigh.school
I mean I think it’s good to have some sports but for a reasonable amount, shouldn’t be two hour like maybe one hourThis is legit so fucking American.
In the US, you're forced to do sports for every grade in high school.
Even in College, you're forced to undergo mandatory sports
Glad it’s not when I’m in the school though; I’ll be graduating by then, it’s for the class of 2032 onwardsAnd they’re also implementing the 50-50 girls and boys rule for selective schools coed so that means it limits the number of smart people in these selective schools
This is crazy. This is legit the definition of "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion". They are doing this as if there's only 1 girl per grade. And they’re also implementing the 50-50 girls and boys rule for selective schools coed so that means it limits the number of smart people in these selective schools

The next thing they are gonna do is let fucking aboriginals get in with a 150/300 score![]()
Yup. A boy doesn't have a better chance than a girl in making it into a selective school at all. All the government is implying is girls are inferior intellectually and therefore need a helping hand (unfairly - lower test score requirements).lmao yeah they said equality for girls and whatnot but it’s not like there’s laws prohibiting girls from getting into the top schools bruh

Like this is something sad to see. James Ruse is suppose to be a congregation of high IQ peeps.
Now it's gonna be like present day Harvard (DEI schemes). Low IQs at the tail and high IQs at the top.
Yup. I also imagine the Government, if James Ruse was still a white school, that they would add racial diversity schemes. (They can't do anything since it's all Chinese, and doing something would make them seem racist)yeahI don’t know why nsw doe has deteriorated so much, a boy isn’t like entitled to more tutoring and thus has more chances of getting in, like are we being serious rn? Bruh in the next like 6 years, all the top coed schools will reach like min 5th rank or below and all the private and guys schools will be on top cause of this rule
Yeah that’s true, idk I feel the academic standard is dropping instead of increasing because it’s assumed knowledge that the future grades would be smarter rightYup. I also imagine the Government, if James Ruse was still a white school, that they would add racial diversity schemes. Yeah exactly and there would be people in jr like Asian committees that would have petitions to reverse the changrI feel like the Labor government wants to add aboriginal places and whatnot to James Ruse, but can't since this wouldn't hurt white people. James Ruse is a pretty homogenous environment with 99% of the people there being Chinese or another east asian.
Is this recent news? yeah why are they suddenly changing schools lmao?
yea didnt they also make a rule at one point so that they reserve 20% of selective spots for people who are disadvantaged or disabledAnd they’re also implementing the 50-50 girls and boys rule for selective schools coed so that means it limits the number of smart people in these selective schools
Yeah I heard of that rule, but I don’t recall any disabled people being in jr though right? I know Baulkho has a class of disabled people, but yeah i don’t understand why you’d do that, can’t you make a localised disabled class and if they’re smart you could join them with a talented and gifted program in that schoolyea didnt they also make a rule at one point so that they reserve 20% of selective spots for people who are disadvantaged or disabled
idk if that went through
