HELP! No hope left for me? (1 Viewer)

Yes I have not been trying hard enough this year and I am regretting it so badly
I just got my trials marks back and well I'm definately panicking now

Standard English: 79/100
General maths: 47/100 (but for all other tests and assessments I've passed)
Ancient history: 76/100 (other tests I got around the 60s)
SOR II: 81.5/100
Visual arts: 38/50 but my major work mark that my teacher gave me was 29/50 which is what really got me worried that I had no hope of ever getting a 75-80 ATAR
So if I studied hard now till HSC and got good would my school marks ruin my chances of getting my desired ATAR?

You shouldn't really worry because I literally never tried my best, not because I don't want to but I cant help procrastinating and playing games.
Ouch there are a couple of subjects that will bring you somewhat down, especially general maths... (seriously ask for any help if you can "only" just pass general maths... remember it's supposed to be straight forward -_- )
However, your other subjects are a bit below average but still okay. Seriously though, it would be a bit hard to judge and give a good prediction if you don't tell your ranks and the rank of your school. This information usually gives anyone of us a rough indication where you might be sitting at.

By the way, what course are you planning to do?

I'm planning to do a Bachelor of arts at Macquarie which I need 75 for or UNSW which I need 78 for
Also my school ranks 89 but I don't know my own ranks

Well I wasn't that fast haha. A bit hard to say, but your school is pretty decent to be honest. Did you also take into account the UNSW bonus points?
Since your doing ancient history, tell me which band you believe you can get (3 points max for your subject)

Ancient History:
Band 6 - 3 Points
Band 5 - 2 Points
Band 4 - 1 Point

However, I believe you will get around ~78 if you definitely do relatively well in your externals. If you want some good goals, try to achieve these marks (i'll try to keep it as realistic as possible). I don't do any of your subjects but i'll try.

Standard English: 79/100 is good if you can do the same
General Maths: 94/100 (If you can get at least that then your set, but if not then 84/100 would be fine)
Ancient History: 83/100 (Not a big difference from your trials, so it looks achievable)
SOR II: 81/100 again would be really good (I think)
Visual Arts: Is it out of 50 or 100? But try to achieve 80% in whatever it is.

Oh, no I didn't know about the bonus points but I think I can manage around band 4-5
Well I plan to study extremely hard from now to HSC and I'll try my best to achieve those goals! I think I can definately do better in SOR and English.
As for art its out of 100 it's 50 theory and 50 practical which is the major work but since my teacher has already marked it 29/50 I don't really think the HSC markers will mark it that much different so I'll have to rely on theory
