Hi everyone! I'm starting uni this year and I was looking at UNSW's Arts & Business and Economics/Arts. By the looks of it, Arts&Business is more arts oriented? Whilst Economics/Arts is more economics focused?

The handbooks are a bit confusing to me, so I was wondering if anyone with information on the two degrees could help?
If I were more interested in arts fields in general, should I pick Arts & Business? Which degree is 'better' (job prospect wise), or is that something dependent on what you study?

The thing is I don't mind economics (it was one of my HSC electives), but I find Arts subjects much more interesting and engaging... but people tell me doing Arts alone isn't very good so I don't know what to do :(

Also is a double degree always better than a single degree?

Thanks in advance! :shy:

Arts Business is for those who want to do Comm and Arts but couldnt reach its ATAR, basically like a short cut. The business component in it is fankly, minimum. How much is 'commerce' worth to you? If u want to study commerce, pick Commerce/Arts or Eco/Arts. But if u want to do arts with a little business knowledge then arts business

Double degree is useless when you do the 2 nd degree just for its sake. Im doing Comm/Media, I like media. If I were doing st8 comm majoring in acct plus fins that would be pointless. If I want to be a banker, str8 comm would be better instead of com/eng. You see my point?

Hey thanks for replying! :)

So Arts & Business is like a bridge type course? Would anyone choose it for what it offers, or is it solely to transfer into commerce and eco degrees?

And good question... I don't know how I feel about Commerce. As in I doubt my ability to like it enough as a life career :/... Personally it's very boring to me, but it has that 'safety net' when it comes to finding jobs.

I guess if it came to interest alone, I'd choose artsy stuff. So should I stick with Arts and Business? Or should I just do Arts?

Arts & Business is actually a single degree which i'd avoid personally. It's just an Arts degree with a few compulsory commerce subs and i don't think you can do a comm major.
