hi,
i have a physics assignment about radio isotopes, and i was wondering if anyone has any information about the use of technetium-99m for medical diagnosis or knows where i could find some.

i can tfind the balanced nuclear equation for the essential transmutations that occur to produce it.

any info at all would be greately appreciated

thanks

:)

DO u have the Jaccaranda Physics text book? Its in the medical physics module and has quite a lot in it. Physics in Context also has the option of medical physics and so there might be some information that you can plagerise from there. :)

if i remember correctly, it forms when molybdnum-99, which is produced from nuclear fission of uranium 235, undergoes beta decay ... (edit: check a periodic table if that makes sense...its been quite a while...)
