i remmeber some girl who got 99.9 at my skool did 3 languages for lsat yr'z hsc

now i wish i chose a language over sdd -___-'

that was the dux , she got 99.95 but looking at her absolutely phenomenal marks, she should have gotten 100, she seriously had 98 and above for all her subjects but english (93) so that probably brought her down.

As long as you're confident about doing really well in the subjects you do ... it won't stop you from getting a 99.

I disagree with that. That's what the subject forums are all about (althougth the focus is not so much on "increasing your UAI" but "helping you to understand a concept of dot-point" which will have a flow-on effect to your UAI hopefully).

I don't know what you got Natstar but maybe if you had asked a question on here that you were unsure of you may have gotten just that 0.05 higher (or if you didn't ask something that you did because you wanted it clarified, you may have never gotten that extra 0.05 or 0.1). It's all small, but it all counts.

People come on this website and ask foolish questions like "oh is it possible for me to get 99+ with these subjects etc..." We dont KNOW?!!? (well actually, kini mini usually does )
You might actually not achieve wonderful results if you idle away time on the boards asking esoteric questions of that which the answers will guarantee nothing. It is always good to discuss, inquire and analyse on specific issues, and can often help one sort through the cluttered chaos of their brain, but I dont think it is productive to over-analyse to the extent of which occurs on this board.
The questions like those above are exactly the type of equivocal question I preoccupied myself with all year, and it was a WASTE OF TIME.
I am forever grateful I found the boards after the hsc!
Isnt Bob Carrs slogan at the moment something like lets get on with the job. (?)

I agree, except that I didn't bother asking those questions at all last year because I knew my subject combination had a theoretical maximum of 100 and I was just trying to get there .

I used to think the questioners had the wrong idea too, but now I think they're really asking something like "Should I feel guilty if I go out tonight rather than do some more maths?", encouraging them to work harder is the main purpose of the thread . Of course hard work and smart work aren't the same thing, but there's no way to really assess someone's efficiency online.

[on amounts of work] I always paced myself by how confident I felt. This is why of the 4 hours I worked some nights in year 12, 3 were on 4U maths . But it won't hurt to provide an incentive to make people work more.

Yes forum is for questions...I think the time '02 spent on here post-hsc changed the dynamics on here...It made ppl think that you come on here to socialise and enquire about the eye colour, height and favourite food of strangers. It's actually intended to be a rather dull and dreary place (hence the grey colour scheme). You come. You enquire. You learn. You leave. Do not, I repeat *do not* by any means learn to find any pleasure, amusement or fun in coming on here....that may signal the end of you 99+ hopes

Yours was reasonable and lucid, and not even *that* heated...I'm just more familiar with the procrastinator's mentality, hence the compassion .

It's quite possible to waste time on forums though, I had over 2000 on a forum I unwisely joined in Jan last year up to the HSC .
