Okay I have an essay question that has the tendency to make my head spin. So maybe you lovely Boredites could help

Using Australian examples, explain the costs and benefits of managing the environment. With reference to the issues you have discussed, identify policies the Australian government has used to achieve their economic policies.

I understand as much that I use my trusted textbook only as a basis but the research I need, what research?!

all you have to research is the recent environmental issues out there in the australian economy, and what the government has been doing to manage these issues.

example: carbon emissions - a negative exernality, price mechanism only taking into account private costs - market failure

govt response: australia is a signatory to the kyoto protocol, and has ratified it

try reading the newspaper and looking at some enviro groups eg greenpeace, WWF
