If it's for the formal, your safest option is to go shopping with her. Only very few guys understand girls' taste in fashion. It also depends on what type of dress she's wearing, and what colour.

what coulour dress is she wearing? was she thinging about wearing a certain type of jewelry? silver or gold?

once u figure this out...then find something that will suit her, match the dress and her other jewelry (if she hasn't got nething yet, buy something she can easily match earrings etc to)

i suggest something plainish...only coloured stones if they match what she is wearing

well she's wearin a black dress with white to hot pink fadin flowers embroided on runnin up the side and a little on the train of the dress. . so i was thinkin silver jewelry wit maybe a pink focus stone? but yea as u can tell i just wanna spoil her and treat her like a princess for the night. . i mean other times as well but esp. on this nite!

check out the jewellry shops in town, they should have something (or something along the lines of) you'd want to get her. in the gong, there's an indian place in the gateway that has lots of nice jewellry..a bit pricey (my bf got me this ring for my 18th, $32), but its really good quality stuff

the dress sound slike its quite ornate so i would go with something plain.. stay away from diva if its a gift!

black pink and white... yeah silver would be cool.. dont go with anything too dangly..

i think a solid round necklace (not a chain) with a chunky pendant would be nice..

unless its a halter dress!! (i just assumed it was strapless...) then i would go for some hot earrings..

I don't know what you should get either, it depends on what type of jewellery she likes.

But spend as much as you humanely can on it.
