does anyone know any policies that promote globalisation in brazil?
No worries! I believe you could, especially if you are able to link this to the relevant Brazilian ministries, such as, in this case, the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Tourism.thank you so much!!!
can i mention this as a policy though?
Who doesn't love football ... apparently, the 2014 World Cup had 3.2 billion viewers (that was like around 45% of the world population back then ... crazy numbers). In 2014, Brazil hosted the FIFA World Cup. This was a significant opportunity for Brazil to promote globalisation, as the 2014 FIFA World Cup involved 32 teams around the world travelling to Brazil and playing a number of matches there. The FIFA World Cup is, by far, the most important sports event internationally. Because of this, the benefits to Brazil of hosting the 2014 FIFA World Cup are manifested in profitable business opportunities, as follows:
In 2016, Brazil also hosted the Olympic Games Rio 2016. While this is event is not as significant as the FIFA World Cup, it remains quite important. Having hosted the Olympic Games Rio 2016 also allowed Brazil to promote globalisation and attain the same benefits it did as the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
- The Brazilian transport industry, including airlines, taxis and buses, had a very busy period due to the large number of foreigners travelling to Brazil to watch the matches at the stadiums.
- The Brazilian accommodation industry, including hotels, had a very busy period due to the large number of foreigners travelling to Brazil to watch the matches who needed a place to stay.
- The Brazilian sports industry, including stadiums, had a very busy period due to the large number of fans, both Brazilian and foreigners wanting to watch the matches live. This resulted in a large number of tickets being sold.
- The Brazilian tourism industry had a very busy period due to the large number of foreign nationals being present in Brazil during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
I hope this helps!

Regarding the notion of policy, are you seeking a specific law/legal regulation?
thank you! is there a specific page?If you have access to it, the Dixon textbook (2021) mentions a bunch of policies they have undertaken
No problem! Is this with reference to elements such as the following (from the HSC course of the Economics syllabus)?it only says to name 3 policies that promote globalisation, description of the policies and its effectiveness in achieving economic growth and development
and thank you again! very much appreciated
OMG yeah TYTYTY this helps smNo problem! Is this with reference to elements such as the following (from the HSC course of the Economics syllabus)?
If so, you can definitely talk discuss the two events I described above in terms of:
- economic growth and quality of life
- full employment
- price stability
- external stability
- environmental sustainability
- distribution of income
- Full employment - large sporting events such as these can open a substantial number of job opportunities, allowing Brazil to progress towards full employment.
- Price stability - the economic benefits associated with hosting 2 huge sporting events could lead to positive changes in terms of monetary/fiscal policy.
- External stability - the economic benefits associated with hosting the aforementioned events would enable Brazil to gain an increased ability to service its international liabilities.
thank you ALWAYS for your help!!No problem! Is this with reference to elements such as the following (from the HSC course of the Economics syllabus)?

ahhh thank YOU so much, i really appreciate it!
- Page 84 mentions the deregulation of industries and abolition of state monopolies (which increased foreign direct investment by multinational corporations, hence promoting economic growth due to the increase in aggregate demand whereby AD = C + I + G + (X-M)
- Page 85 mentions reductions in industry protection, which decreased protective barriers tariffs and quotas, hence promoting increasing economic integration (via trade liberalisation) and economic growth
- Page 86 mentions the formation of Mercosur, which is a customs union between Brazil and four other Latin American nations (Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela) which promoted trade flows and hence economic growth
- Page 78 mentions "flagship policies" by the Lula administration, which decreased poverty rates through conditional cash transfer policies, hence promoting economic development
So, to add to this, you can actually deconstruct globalisation into the 5 drivers. Then, search for policies related to each of the 5 drivers.does anyone know any policies that promote globalisation in brazil?
thank you so much! So, to add to this, you can actually deconstruct globalisation into the 5 drivers. Then, search for policies related to each of the 5 drivers.
Eg this is one I found when looking for policies relating to trade. http://www.sice.oas.org/ctyindex/brz/WTO/ENGLISH/s358_sum_e.pdf
How would you reference this? So, to add to this, you can actually deconstruct globalisation into the 5 drivers. Then, search for policies related to each of the 5 drivers.

So, one way you could do this is reference the link as website source. The other way you can do this is take a policy you like in the pdf, then search on google to find a reputable source that talks about it, and then reference that one lmao. How would you reference this?
