Whatever makes u sleep at night better
in case u were wondering the teacher added my exam wrong thats why she gave me 8 extra marks but to think that i simply accepted my mark n didnt ‘extremely cope’ w it (like u mentioned) i wouldve ended w an unfair mark
yes i was rough to the teacher when i went up n said ‘i dont believe thats my mark, can u remark it?’ but at the end of the day i was the one disadvantaged in the class not the rest and as i said in my above message they didnt give two fucks so instead of worrying abt me n how its my fault or how what i did is disrespectful maybe next time ask what happened or ignore
girl why did it take you 3 posts to say my teacher accidentally added up my marks wrong and thats why i got 8 extra marks, why did you keep saying you asked for extra marks and you got them?? even when i said the "it is still her fault part" i said it hypothetically bc you didn't tell us the full story lol

also yes i did ask what happened and i was on your side, maybe read the full thing instead of just the parts where i say smth bad

i hope to goodness you are lying or there is more to the story and you had a more valid reason bc how disrespectful is that to everyone else who earnt their marks
this was also hypothetical in case you can't tell bc i didn't directly say that it was disrespectful, i only implied it would have been disrespectful IF you got them changed with no good reason

im hoping im wrong and they earned their marks
again im taking your side here

why are you mad that im bothered about someone unethically getting extra marks, even tho i was trying to find out if you did or not? in a year you're gonna be in y12 and you'll start to understand how serious it it to commit malpractice and how nobody will be on your side if you do.

if you did nothing wrong there is no need to be defensive and when i say its disrespectful bc if you correct me ill apologise on my own. im not getting told im overreacting by someone who's unintentionally ragebaiting lol have a good day

If she did however mean the "i made my maths teacher add marks," it is not only her fault but the teachers right? because they aren't supposed to just give marks away cuz the student was pestering them. if you get what i mean...
i still stand by what i said earlier abt this in the case that you get your marks changed for no good reason. its like hiring someone to do something wrong for you because if you didn't ask them they wouldn't have done it. doesn't matter whether or not they did it but you are the cause

Lowkey dawg its not that deep. Yr 10 like no one really cares. I pulled like 30s in IST and I had a History teacher that literally gave me free marks bc I stood up for the dude when the class was bullying him. Years 7-10 genuinely don't mean jack and therefore the teachers dgaf ab the quality of their marking which is fair enough since that means they can put more effort into making the senior years fairer.

And I am well aware there are students who do want to excel academically. But if anything a lower rank would probably just make the person work even harder for the following years which then would follow suit into their senr years.

they should mark all years fair wtaf are you on. if you handed free marks out to ppl you are only reinforcing the fact that if you screw up in the future someone is gonna save you and add on marks. honestly im shocked ppl in your schools actually do this type of stuff, mine would probably fail us for that task if someone tries to get their marks changed unethically even in y7-10. and if you really want a diff mark you wouldn't get it changed you would request a resit of the test. i don't think thats even a harsh punishment imo its pretty fair considering its academic malpractice.

also to be fair y7-10 is not that deep like you said so whats the point in asking for extra marks to go from a 73 to 79 lol. you have to understand that this kid is like 1 year from being in y12 and i dont want her to think its fine to do this in y12 too especially considering her other posts where she says she wants to rank better in her cohort, and she wants to lock in and all that.

i sort of understand asking a teacher to pass you through the course so you dont get held back in y7-10 (still don't agree with it) but i dont understand asking for extra marks once you've already passed and you've done better than a bunch of ppl in your class

this is selection bias i reckon. for example if you failed sciences all throughout y7-10 you likely wouldn't pick y11/12 sciences. out of the very few ppl that do, most of them are somewhat academically driven and working on fixing their issues so they would have been more likely to work hard anyways

- i was top 10 (8/53) in math so i think that its worth asking for extra marks but anyways i lost my rank
- it was just me bc i asked while everyone else just went w it
- i was 1st in math for 3 consecutive yrs (7-9) so it rlly was very annoying when i saw that 73/102
- i dont think its fine to get free marks but when yk that u didnt mess up that much n tell ur teacher for a remark its fair (according to my commerce teacher it's illegal for a teacher to refuse an assessment remark as stated by NESA)
- since the teacher added my marks wrong then it was the teachers fault n there is no need for me to get 'failed'
- my school dont do resits for tests (every single misadventure form is rejected if it states a resit)
- im allowed to do ext at my school since the rule states that it's 85%+ ext, 50%+ adv, and anything below standard (specifically for 5.3, the lower math classes have 85% is standard n anything below is no math) when i got a 73 i didnt want to not be allowed for ext so i had to talk to my teacher where she is gonna make an exception for me since i havent gotten below 90% so far so yes yr 10 math does matter

in speaking of the last point apparently my math teacher (the head teacher) has an agreement w the deputy that there isnt anymore 'recommendations' (only for math) at the beginning it was that if im not recommended for math ext it was i would go to an extra workshop at school to prove myself in order to do that subject but from now on if im not recommended for math ext thats it im not allowed since lately the schools band 6s for all math levels have been decreasing rlly badly so its only natural that im worried n asked the teacher to recheck the paper

literally nobody is talking about you or saying you are in the wrong. your teacher made a mistake adding up your marks and added them up properly which does not mean they gave you extra marks, they just fixed their mistake, meaning neither or you are in the wrong. im not even replying to you im talking to @Average Boreduser bc he says its not deep to give out free marks in y10 just bc you asked for them. you need to stop being defensive when nobody is blaming you or saying you are wrong because it is embarrassing. just to reiterate you are not in the wrong i am talking hypothetically

Bro if that was the case for any assessment, I'd be rank 5+ in my school if I asked for more marks in my e1 assessment task 2... but I had to bust my ass off for t3 and 4 to bring my average back up to a sufficient standing. I guess this case is somewhat fine since you want to do e1 but don't expect that sort of treatment afterwards 😭
