i stumbled on this question in this book about the musical concepts...
"Are the phrases of the melody in four-bar groupings or less usual groupings?"

What does this question exactly mean? I'm a bit vague on it..
hehe thanks for any help :))

Phrasing in music

Okay, here goes.
Phrasing in music is usually 'balanced', that is, even with each phrase. The most common phrase length is 4 bars, and this gives it a symmetrical feel. Most music (esp pop and radio songs) are written in this way. Just listen to a singer emphasise their words. Its a bit like a musical sentence. There's a breath (usually) at the beginning of each phrase.
Hope this helps, and good luck on Monday!
