hey guys if anyone has a brief history of the development of the cochlear implant or artificial heart valves it would be greatly appreciated

just to prove my moron status i just thought i'd answer my own question, i found this in the resources senior science section haha

Ø 1950 first electrical stimulation of auditory nerve,
Ø 1957 first stimulation of acoustic nerve via an electrode, biocompatible material made,
Ø 1972 speech processor developed,
Ø 1970 single cochlear implant used,
Ø 1978 first implant of multi channel.

I'm going to have to say wikipedia ftw, although its not "reliable" as such, it can provide useful information if you really can't be stuffed trying to find it from the sites that deal with that issue
